My name is Aveek Datta. I have used some nicknames when I was younger. I don't really use them know, but they do help give some insight into my personality:

DELiRiUM This handle came from watching a commercial for Obsession. I don't know how my mind clicked it, but it just happened that way. Among my friends, I am often prone to fits of DELIRIUM, which is basically characterized by (as an aquaintance would put it) 'immaturity'. Adds spice to my life.

MoNoLiTH I've also been in the 'bulletin board' and 'online scene' (outside of the Internet) for a long time. About six years. I ran my own BBS, called MoNoLiTH.. where I learned basically how to WRiTe LiKe THiS... It was a lot of fun, and my remote sysop and good friend, Vasilios Pilarinos at NYU, continue to run it for another year before he took it down in favor of the net, like a lot of old BBSers. I also run a system with the name on the internet, Monolith Internet Services, International. That also explains why I have the nickname MoNoLiTH.

DooM GuarD As for DooM GuarD, recently I don't use it much, simply because I am not as depressed as I used to be. The first reason DooM GuarD came around was when I started a group called TRO (no one, including me, knows what that stands for. It was an alternate name for my BBS... in that form, it stood for The Remote Outpost. Another neat name for my BBS was GOD.. Gates of Delirium). I used DooM GuarD as my alternate nick and moved over to it when I got sick of people mispelling DELIRIUM.. every day it seems people find new ways to misspell it. Instead of using the more foreboding DOOM GUARD I simply use DG where appropiate.

I believe the last time I used any of these nick names was before I graduated college, which was over a decade ago. Now I sometimes use the nickname pitflyer which reflects my home in Pittsburgh and the fact I fly (commercial) a lot.
